The DIY Universal Big Leaf Bag V-3 is a large-capacity lawn mower leaf bag attachment designed primarily for fall leaf collection, with an approximately 45-gallon capacity for collecting more lightweight, bulky leaves before emptying. It can also be useful for leftover leaf cleanup in the spring. The Universal attachment system is designed to fit a wide range of existing rear-discharge mower bag metal frames.
Designed for Leaf Cleanup
The Big Leaf Bag was developed primarily to make collecting large amounts of fallen leaves easier and more efficient. Because leaves are generally lighter and bulkier than grass clippings, the larger V-3 bag body provides more collection capacity while mowing and picking up leaves around your lawn.
With its approximately 45-gallon capacity, the V-3 can provide about 2–3 times the collection capacity of some regular mower grass bags. This larger capacity can mean fewer stops to empty the bag during heavy fall leaf cleanup.
Some grass clippings may naturally be collected along with the leaves, especially during fall cleanup, and that is perfectly normal. Although some customers may use the Big Leaf Bag for both leaves and grass, it is primarily designed for leaf collection. For regular summer grass mowing, we recommend using your mower's regular grass collection bag.
Easy-Empty Funnel-Shaped Design
The Big Leaf Bag has a funnel-shaped design, with the rear of the bag larger than the front opening. This wider rear helps collected leaves empty more easily.
Once full, simply remove the Big Leaf Bag and empty the collected material where appropriate—into a 45-gallon trash bag, trailer, yard-waste container, or other suitable disposal location.
DIY Installation — Two Options
With the DIY V-3, you install the Big Leaf Bag mouth onto your existing mower bag metal frame using the included installation hardware and tools.
1. Quick Safety-Pin Installation
Use the provided safety pins for a faster and simpler installation. You can continue using the safety-pin method or later convert the same installation to snap buttons.
2. Standard Snap-Button Installation
For a more permanent and finished installation, follow the DIY installation video and use the provided snap-installation tool and snap buttons to attach the Big Leaf Bag mouth to your existing mower bag metal frame.
